Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules: Animal Policies
The following 4 Disney Resort hotels have designated dog-friendly accommodations:
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort
These rooms have easy access to outdoor walkways for exercise and to green spaces with pet relief areas. Upon arrival, dogs and their owners will be greeted with a complimentary Pluto’s Welcome Kit.
At this time, dogs are the only pets allowed, with a maximum of 2 permitted per Guest room. Dogs are expected to be well-behaved, leashed in public areas and properly vaccinated.
While certain floors or sections of these Disney Resort hotels are designated as dog-friendly, the majority of areas remain canine-free to protect Guests with allergies or other needs. Other than service animals, dogs are not permitted in theme parks, water parks or common areas such as restaurants, pools and recreational spaces.

Animal Policies
- Feeding, petting, touching, harassing or harming any wildlife, including birds, is prohibited.
- Service animal means a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability. All other animals, including emotional support, comfort or companion animals, are not considered service animals.
- Pets or other animals, except service animals (i.e., dogs and miniature horses, as defined above) are prohibited. They are allowed only at designated pet friendly Disney Resort hotels.
- Pets staying at a designated pet friendly Disney Resort hotel should remain on a leash or in a harness and under the control of the owner at all times when outside of the Disney resort hotel room. Please refer to the designated pet friendly Disney Resort hotel’s specific pet agreement for additional rules regarding pets.
- Service animals should remain on a leash or in a harness and under the control of the owner at all times. Due to the nature of some attractions, service animals may not be permitted to ride.
- Service animals are not allowed in the water—including water features/fountains—or closer than 4 feet to the water on wet decks.
- Only two dogs are permitted per room
Pet Cleaning Fee
Each Disney World Resort that allows pets charges a nightly fee.
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: $50 per night plus tax.
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside: $50 per night plus tax.
- The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort: $50 per night plus tax.
- Fort Wilderness Resort’s Campsites: $5 per night
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort: $75 per night plus tax.
