Blizzard Beach Water Park Closed for Lengthy Refurbishment
Blizzard Beach Water Park, located at Walt Disney World, is now closed for refurbishment, Monday, September 8, 2025. The water park was open this summer, along with Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, for the first time in years and we enjoyed seeing the crowds comeback to both parks. Since COVID, the water parks usually alternated operating schedules, with one being open for around six months, then the other, which looks like we are returning to that schedule for the time being or until next summer.
Disney announcement below:
Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently unavailable. During this time, we encourage you to visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.

A reopening date is not yet announced or available on the Walt Disney World calendar, which is currently available through May 9, 2026.
As a reminder, Walt Disney World resort guests visiting in 2025 can take advantage of free water park admission on their check-in day. At this time, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is the only water park open for this special perk.
