Disney Cruise Line offers motorcoach transportation from Walt Disney World Resort hotels and Orlando International Airport (MCO) directly to Port Canaveral. The Disney motorcoaches are comfortable, air-conditioned and play Disney videos and trivia during the ride. They provide luggage assistance from start to finish (your bags will magically appear at your stateroom door later that afternoon.) Additionally, the drivers are friendly and knowledgeable. Port Canaveral is located on the East Coast of Florida the distance from Orlando to Port Canaveral is approximately 49 to 56 miles, depending on the specific starting point in Orlando. The drive typically takes about 45 to 60 minutes via the FL-528 E highway.
Orlando International to Port Canaveral
Orlando International and Port Canaveral are about 47 miles apart. The distance from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral is approximately 45 to 50 miles. The most direct route is via State Road 528 (Beachline Expressway), which is a toll road. Depending on traffic, the travel time can range from 45 to 60 minutes.
Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral
The Walt Disney World Resort and Port Canaveral are about 59 miles apart. The distance from Disney World to Port Canaveral is approximately 59 to 61 miles depending on the route taken. The estimated travel time is around 55 minutes to 1 hour by car.

- Luggage Transfer: If you’re flying into MCO on embarkation day and using Disney Cruise Line transportation, Disney will pick up your luggage from baggage claim and bring it to the Port straight to your room. But if you are staying at a Disney World resort hotel or at the Hyatt at Orlando International, a representative from Disney Cruise Line will come early in the morning to pick up your bags. Just be sure to attach your Disney Cruise Line luggage tags and look out for an email from Disney Cruise Line the night before. The email will include departure details (departures are usually around 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.) and luggage pickup times.

How to Book Disney Cruise Transportation
Disney Cruise Line can arrange flights to and from the airport near your departure port and, if needed, book any overnight accommodations. Currently, Disney Cruise Line transportation is $45 per person, each way (ages 3 and up). young ones under 3, ride free if seated on a lap.
Private transfers are available on most itineraries between the airport, hotel and cruise port for an additional fee. Contact Disney Cruise Line for more information or to add these transfers. Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or My Reservations to arrange round-trip transfers between the airport and cruise terminal.

Accessible motorcoaches with lifts are available with advance notice. Disney can accommodate most wheelchairs and ECVs. Be sure to request this at least 72 hours in advance.
Ground Transportation Details
Sailing from Port Canaveral to The Bahamas or the Caribbean
Guests embarking on a Disney cruise traveling to The Bahamas or Caribbean from Port Canaveral will fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO). The ship departs from the Disney Cruise Line Terminal at Port Canaveral. Travel time from the airport to the terminal is one hour, depending on traffic.
Air/Ground Transportation & Accommodations
You may add air travel, ground transportation or a hotel stay by contacting Disney Cruise Line. Guests younger than age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call.
Airport Transfers
Ground transfers between Orlando International Airport and Port Canaveral are available for purchase in 2025. Airport transfers are available on embarkation and debarkation days only, for $45 per Guest. Guest transportation will begin at 10:00 AM. Guests arriving prior to that time can enjoy the airport amenities until transportation begins.
- For the Port Canaveral to Barcelona sailing on May 4, 2025, ground transfers to Barcelona International Airport from the Port of Barcelona are available for purchase for $35 per Guest.
We recommend contacting Disney Cruise Line to add ground transfers in advance, as only a limited number may be available for purchase upon arrival. Please be prepared to provide your inbound and outbound flight details. Private transportation options are also available.
If you have booked a stay before your cruise at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport and purchased transfers from the airport to the port, please call and let us know so we can ensure your transportation experience is seamless.
If you’ve purchased transfers, be sure to collect your luggage at baggage claim upon arrival at Orlando International Airport. Then proceed directly to Side B, Level 1 – Ground Transportation.
Luggage Tags
You’ll receive Disney Cruise Line luggage tags in your document package. If you’ve purchased Disney Cruise Line transfers from the airport, remember to attach the luggage tags to any bags before you board the motorcoach. This will help us identify them so we can deliver them directly to your stateroom.
Please ensure that your luggage does not contain prohibited items and that alcoholic beverages are in a carry-on bag when you arrive at the port. If you are flying with alcohol you intend to bring on board, we recommend packing it in your luggage before checking in with the airline. After retrieving your luggage at the airport, we recommend transferring the alcohol to a bag you will be carrying on board with you. Alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and no compensation will be offered.
If you have arranged a pre-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel or at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, have purchased private transportation or are not using Disney Cruise Line transportation, please do not attach the luggage tags until just before you arrive at the port.
Guests Arranging Independent Air Travel
For the Port Canaveral to Port Canaveral sailings in 2026, we recommend the following flight-time guidelines:
- Latest arrival time to Orlando International Airport on embarkation day: 11:30 AM
- Earliest departure time from Orlando International Airport on debarkation day: 11:15 AM
Pre- and Post-Cruise Hotel Stays and Transportation
If you’ve booked a hotel stay with us before or after your cruise, transfers are available (for an additional fee) between the airport, hotel and cruise port. Contact Disney Cruise Line for more information or to add these transfers.
A Disney Cruise Line representative will be available outside the baggage claim area to direct you to your designated transportation. Transportation may include a motorcoach, minibus or taxi, depending on arrival time and party size. If you have booked a hotel stay before your cruise you will receive additional information about transportation to Port Canaveral when checking in.
Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is located inside the main terminal of the Orlando International airport. If you’ve booked a stay in this hotel, enter the main terminal at Orlando International Airport and follow signs to the hotel.
