
Disney & AccuWeather Launch Disney Weather Check
Disney and AccuWeather have announced a long-term partnership to introduce Disney Weather Check, a “first-of-its-kind” weather forecasting and alerting system for guests visiting Disney parks and resorts AOL+1.
What Disney Weather Check Offers
The system is built into the AccuWeather app (no separate download) and activates when you enter Disney property boundaries, providing real-time, location-specific weather intelligence WDWMAGIC+1. Key features include:
- Geo‑fenced alerts: Automatically switches to Disney Weather Check mode when inside Disney property, syncing with the same safety warnings and advisories cast members receive WDWMAGIC.
- Custom hourly forecasts: Tailored to each Disney resort, updated in real time to help plan activities WDW News Today.
- AccuWeather MinuteCast: Hyperlocal precipitation forecasts showing type, intensity, and exact start/end times for the next four hours, based on your GPS location AOL+1.
- RealFeel Temperature: An index based on 14 factors (including sunshine intensity, wind, humidity, and air density) to show how conditions actually feel TravelPulse+1.
- Real-time radar and lightning: Live tracking to help decide where and when to go WDWMAGIC.
The system is now integrated across several Disney Experiences destinations, including Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort.
According to the companies, the technology is designed to help guests navigate changing weather conditions more efficiently while maximizing time inside parks and resorts.
Features include hyperlocal precipitation forecasts, real-time weather monitoring and property-specific hourly outlooks. The platform also incorporates AccuWeather’s MinuteCast technology, which provides short-term precipitation timing forecasts tied to a guest’s GPS location.

Why It Matters
According to AccuWeather CEO Steven R. Smith, the partnership delivers the most precise, localized forecasts to help guests plan efficiently and enjoy their day with confidence TravelPulse+1. Disney’s Chief Safety Officer Greg Hale says it provides customized, accurate, and actionable weather insights across multiple properties Daps Magic+1.
Guests can access the feature via the AccuWeather app, QR codes at resorts, or by downloading the Disney Weather Check app if desired Recommend. This integration aims to make weather planning seamless, reducing the need for extra apps and keeping guests informed throughout their visit.
The integration also includes AccuWeather’s RealFeel Temperature index, which factors in multiple environmental conditions beyond standard temperature readings.

Disney Weather Check will utilize the power of AccuWeather to set guests up for success with specific weather reports as they plan their Disney visits. The new app can be downloaded on the AccuWeather website. In the announcement for this new app, AccuWeather said that “guests are empowered to make the best-informed decisions to plan for and maximize their day, with access to real-time weather forecasts and location-specific alerts from AccuWeather.”
