Disney Cruise Line Updates Policy Change: Room Service Charge

Enjoy the convenience of 24-hour-a-day room service for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks with many items included in the price of your cruise. But starting June 4^th that can change and that depends on your ship. But I think that this just a beginning and believe Disney is testing this out.

Now keep in mind some things here, conveniently Disney’s 24-hour-a-day room service for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks except on the final night of your cruise, room service will be available until 1:30 AM.  Have been completely free!!! But now fees may apply for certain items and deliveries. A gratuity is at your discretion, but we usually do $1 to $2 per item for the cast member.

Disney has changed the free service to a flat service charge of $5 plus 18% gratuity equaling $5.90. This isn’t that bad if you don’t order as much as we do, but if you are like us, we do more than a dozen times. Now to tell you more news, the popular morning room service and concierge hasn’t changed for this ship either.

Now don’t panic because this isn’t happening to the entire fleet, well as of now. Disney states, “This policy is exclusively for the newest Disney cruise ship, the Adventure.” This  cruise ship sets sail out of Singapore and is the biggest Disney cruise ship coming in at over a 6700 Passenger Capacity. That’s a lot of rooms, in fact 1954 to be exact.

Savor breakfast, grab a quick between-meal snack or satisfy a late-night craving 24 hours a day from the comfort of your room. Fees may apply for certain items and deliveries. A gratuity is at your discretion.

Please note that an additional fee will be added to your stateroom for certain snacks, wines, beverages and beverage packages.

Lunch and dinner options are available all day and night except during the morning hours when breakfast is served. Although subject to change, lunch and dinner menu items may include:

• Custom-made sandwiches
• Fresh salads and appetizers
• Hearty burgers, pizza and hot dogs
• Chef specialties, like grilled salmon
• Scrumptious desserts, including cookies, ice-cream and nuts

Start the day off right with a continental breakfast delivered right to your room. Breakfast items are available for delivery from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Although subject to change, breakfast menu items may include:

• Juices
• Coffee/Tea
• Muffins/Donuts
• Toast
• Cereals

To order Room Service for breakfast, please fill out the Room Service Request Card in your stateroom and leave it outside your door prior to 3:00 AM on the morning of the scheduled breakfast. You can also order a continental breakfast by calling room service directly in the morning. Continental breakfast orders placed using door hangtags by 3:00 AM are not subject to delivery fees.
