Disney Treasure Pulls into Port Canaveral

The Disney Treasure was buzzing with excitement as it pulled into the channel this morning filled with crew members ready to bring the vessel home. After more than 5,000 nautical miles from Eemshaven, Netherlands, and days without land in sight, Port Canaveral was a welcomed view. Crew gathered on the open decks and whistled, cheered and roared with delight as lights appeared in the distance.
Shoreside cast members also joined in on the joyous welcome party. More than 250 cast woke up bright and early to witness the historic moment and greet the Disney Treasure and its Crew with smiles and waves. The mood at the exclusive cast viewing area was electric as soon as the ship appeared in the distance. Both those on board and shoreside viewers cheered as “A Whole New World” triumphantly sounded from the ship’s horn and the viewing area was full of “oohs” and “ahhs” as the classic water salute escorted her very first trip down the channel.
Arriving at 6 a.m. ET, just before the sun peeked over the horizon, the lights from aboard the Disney Treasure glistened in the early morning as it approached its home port. Pulling into Port Canaveral for the very first time, greeted by none other than Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie along with 250+ Disney cast members, media, and many spectators – the Disney Treasure has completed its transatlantic journey and has officially arrived in the United States! Upon entering Port Canaveral, the iconic Disney ship horn echoed across the water energizing the crowd who were eagerly waiting ashore to get a first look at Disney Cruise Line’s new addition to the fleet! The Disney Treasure will spend a few days in Port Canaveral gearing up for its Christening in New York City on November 19, just a few weeks ahead of the maiden voyage on December 21, when the ship will welcome guests on board for the very first time.
