Pick up a pencil and uncover the secret of how Disney animators bring your favorite characters to life!
Let your creativity shine––no matter your skill level––as a talented Disney animator gives you step-by-step instructions on how to illustrate your own version of a popular Disney character at The Animation Experience at Conservation Station.
Each 25-minute class will offer something different. Featured characters change periodically, so you can keep adding to your art collection!
As part of the Disney Earth Day Celebration, you may learn to draw such characters as Dumbo from Dumbo, Terk from Tarzan, Crush with Squirt or Bruce from Finding Nemo, Shere Kahn from The Jungle Book, Heimlich from A Bug’s Life, or Simba from The Lion King!
Limited-Time Wilderness Explorers Badge
Brush up on your Wilderness Explorers call and get ready to earn a special badge.
Adventure is out there! Wilderness Explorers offers a series of fun, nature-themed challenges. Self-guided activities range from animal observation to learning important wilderness skills. Complete activities on your own or as part of a group and collect dozens of badges.
In honor of Earth Day, you can take part in a limited-time Wilderness Explorer activity and earn your Nature Badge. Learn where you can spend time outdoors near your home and discover state and national parks in your area. This special activity can be found in the courtyard near Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
Magic Shots
Capture an extra special moment with the help of a Disney PhotoPass photographer.
Get “camera-yeti” with a Super Zoom Magic Shot at the Disney Earth Day Celebration! This is your chance to bring home a video (and accompanying zoomed-in and zoomed-out photos) with family and friends using the icy Himalayan peaks as a backdrop.
Trek on over to the base camp of Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain and find a Disney PhotoPass photographer. This Super Zoom Magic Shot is available from 10:00 AM through sunset, weather permitting.
You can also capture a Magic Shot featuring one of our favorite conservation specialists––Wall-E and his lady love, Eve. Visit a Disney PhotoPass photographer located just outside the park’s Main Entrance for this captivating photo.

Character Sightings
During our Disney Earth Day Celebration, see beloved Disney Characters as they spread joy around the park. Wave to these special Disney pals on the Discovery Island Character Cruise as it sails around the Discovery River.
Disneynature Polar Bear Sand Sculpture
Take a look at the beauty of nature! Visit the Main Entrance Plaza, just outside of the park gates, to view a magnificent sand sculpture, created in honor of the new Disneynature film, Polar Bear.
Narrated by 2-time Academy Award nominee Catherine Keener (Capote, Being John Malkovich), Disneynature’s Polar Bear tells the story of a new mother whose memories of her own youth prepare her to navigate motherhood in the increasingly challenging world that polar bears face today. Polar Bear launches exclusively on Disney+ beginning April 22, 2022.
