Car Locator Feature Debuts in My Disney Experience App
Earlier this year Disney announced a new feature within the My Disney Experience App called the Car Locator. With the new app update we get to now see what the feature looks like and test it out. Ideally you need to be located on Disney property and have your phone near your car. Since we live 20 hours away, we had to manually put in our car at Magic Kingdom.
There are two ways to find the Car Locator feature tab in My Disney Experience App, one, you can either find it below the ‘Virtual Queue’ information on the home page or, two, by opening the menu page. We call this the hamburger, but it looks like this ☰. It is located and the far bottom of the page or top right corner.
When you are ready to use the app, your phone service locator will activate your location from your car’s parking spot. You will confirm your parking lot and presto done it saves your location.
But if you forgot and walked away you will need to confirm your car’s location manually. Here is how we manually entered our car’s location. There you are directed to follow the prompts.
How to Use Car Locator – 3 Easy Steps
- After parking your vehicle, open the My Disney Experience app and tap the car locator card on your home screen—or you can also use the feature menu (☰) for access.
- Follow the prompts to manually enter your parking information. If you enable Location Services on your device, car locator can help fill in details for you.
- When you’re ready to leave, return to car locator for your parking information. If you’ve enabled notifications, we’ll even remind you!
Look below for screen shots and steps.
In the My Disney Experience App open the menu.
Below the menu, you will find the Car Locator tab.
Click ‘Save Vehicle Location‘
Disney Response says “your too far away”
Hit Manually Enter
Select Location
Select your Disney location
Select your Lot or Garage location
Select your Row then
Confirm and Save
Your Finished!
You can now exit the app at any time.
You can pull up your location by reentering the car locator tab and you will be prompted to your car’s location, automatically.
