
Closure Date Announced for It’s Tough to Be a Bug
Disney has announced an official closure date for It’s Tough to Be a Bug show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Per the official Walt Disney World website, the final day of operation for the attraction will be March 16, 2025. The show will be replaced to make way for Zootopia: Better Zoogether, coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in winter 2025.
Disney states:
It’s Tough to be a Bug! will close permanently on March 17, 2025, to make way for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in winter 2025.

The new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, will feature characters from the Zootopia film like Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and more. This new show was first introduced at Destination D23 in 2023.

Become an honorary insect as you take your seat in the theater hidden at the base of the Tree of Life and don a pair of “bug eye” glasses. Enjoy a delightful 3D movie and live show hosted by Flik, the loveable ant from A Bug’s Life, and learn how insects survive in the wild.

During the show, dodge flying quills from a tarantula, feel a harmless spray from a soldier termite and sniff the putrid “defense stench” from a stink bug.
When Hopper—the grasshopper villain from A Bug’s Life—unexpectedly shows up, the theater goes bug-wild!
The moral of the story? It really is tough to be a bug. With dazzling 3D movie effects, Audio-Animatronics figures and in-theater 4D surprises, this is one show you’ll be buzzing about for a long time.
Alive with Natural Wonder
The Tree of Life honors animals and the place they all share in the great Circle of Life.
At 145 feet tall, the massive tree towers over the land. Marvel at its gnarled roots and outstretched branches, then step closer to see the shapes of over 300 animals carved into the tree.
It’s an epic visual symbol of the diversity, beauty and interconnected nature of Earth’s creatures.

Now Playing Under the Tree Head to the theater inside the Tree of Life root system and catch It’s Tough to be a Bug! This 8-minute, 3D movie and multimedia show stars Flik and Hopper from the Disney and Pixar film A Bug’s Life—along with a supporting cast of insects who provide a surprising glimpse inside their bug-eat-bug world.
