Fairytale Gardens Now Closed for Encanto Retheming at Magic Kingdom
Merida, the adventurous heroine from Disney Pixar’s film, “Brave,” was appearing at Fairytale Garden in Magic Kingdom Park since 2012. She recently moved to a new spot where guests can now meet Merida in Liberty Square starting July 9th.
Disney announced that Encanto is coming to Magic Kingdom this fall and would be relocating Merida to a new location. In her substitution would be Encanto-themed reimagining character meet and greets like Mirabel and possibly Bruno.
Disney describes the theming for the reimagined space as “whimsical décor inspired by La Familia Madrigal”. Disney has not released details about the transformation of the space, or an expected opening time.
The Fairytale Gardens are located between the bridge to Tomorrowland and the Cheshire Cafe. Fairytale Gardens is now closed as crews work on transforming the space to bring Encanto to Fantasyland.
