Typhoon Lagoon Now Open at Disney World
As reported on earlier, Disney announced that they were going to reopen Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. In this announcement they also mentioned that both water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, would both be open for the 2025 summer, but that at first Blizzard Beach will shut done while they reopen Typhoon Lagoon. Disney states: “Starting May 1, 2025, Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will be temporarily unavailable. During this time, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be open. However, starting May 21, 2025, both Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park will be open throughout the summer!”
We are thrilled to see both water parks open again! This actions was due to COVID and keeping only one park open at a time. It will be the first time since 2019 that guests can splash around at both Disney water parks during their trip.
It is important to note: As a Disney Resorts Collection hotel guest, you’ll have complimentary water park admission on your check-in day—no reservation required! This fin-tastic benefit is available to everyone listed on your resort reservation, though attendance is completely up to them—so if someone in your group wants to keep their feet on the shore, no worries!
After May 21, Guests staying at a Walt Disney World hotel in 2025 get free admission to either water park on their day of arrival. This popular perk is something we took full advantage of and was thrilled to get back to a Disney water park.
***A few important treasures to keep in mind: Check the park calendar and hours before your trip to confirm which water park—Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach—will be open. Also, this benefit is only valid on your check-in day, so plan accordingly!

How to Enter the Water Park
Upon arrival at the water park, use your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass or Key to the World Card for park entry. Learn about these options.
Start Your Day with a Splash
If you don’t need to store your luggage, then you can go directly to the water park on your Resort check-in day—even if you haven’t checked in to your Resort hotel yet!
From May 21, 2025, through September 7, 2025, both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park will be open.
Store Your Gear
Luggage is not permitted in the Disney water parks or on Disney buses. However, you can take advantage of convenient storage options:
- Luggage Storage at Your Resort Hotel: If you want to visit a water park before your room is ready, you can check your luggage with Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You can have your bags delivered when you return to your room.
- Locker Rentals at the Water Parks: You can take smaller items—such as a small day bag—with you into the water park. Each Walt Disney World water park features keyless lockers that can be used throughout the day for a one-time charge, so you can store smaller items if needed.
Get Around Walt Disney World Resort
Get to and from the water park on your Resort check-in day with these transportation options:
- Complimentary Bus Transportation: Enjoy air-conditioned bus service around Walt Disney World Resort. Just remember that luggage is not permitted on Walt Disney World buses—but you can check your luggage with Bell Services at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Learn more about bus transportation.
- Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft: Be whisked around Walt Disney World Resort with this whimsical personal ride service, available via the Lyft app. Fees apply.
- Parking: Park your car in a complimentary lot at the Disney water parks. Please be aware that parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This water park benefit is only available to registered overnight Guests listed on your Resort reservation. Please review your Resort reservation and make sure all Guests are accurately reflected.

View the Park Calendar and Hours
Check the park calendar and operating hours shortly before your Resort check-in date to plan your water park visit. As a reminder, this water park benefit is only on the day of check-in, and is valid for admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, whichever is open.
Check the Weather Forecast
Water parks may close due to inclement weather, so check the weather forecast before visiting a water park. Note that:
- Full-day closures will be reflected on the park calendar at least one day in advance.
- Temporary, day-of closures may occur—sometimes with little advance notice—and will not be reflected on the park calendar.
Pack a Small Day Bag for the Water Park
Since you can visit the water park before your Resort room is ready, consider packing a small day bag with your water park gear. The water parks have changing areas with showers, so you can put on your swimwear at the park.
When packing a day bag, you may want to include:
- Swimwear
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Flip-flops or water shoes
- A change of clothing
Be sure to follow the water park dress code policy—and leave prohibited items at home.
Please note that:
- Complimentary life jackets are available in the water park for all water park Guests—so you can leave yours at home.
- Disney Resort hotel Guests can enjoy complimentary towel rentals from Singapore Sal’s and High ‘N Dry Rentals. Be sure to use your Key to the World card, MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile service to receive this benefit.

- Each of our water parks is refurbished annually. These routine maintenance periods are staggered, so Guests with valid water park admission should be able to enjoy at least one water park experience year-round.
- Water park admission is nontransferable, nonrefundable and has no cash value, and excludes activities/events separately priced or not open to the general public.
