What is RA Camping and is it Beneficial to Popup Camping?
RA Camping means ‘Reserve America Camping’. It is a type of camping where people only use RA-approved campsites around the US when planning their camping excursions. Many campers call RA Camping home to their campers and call it a lifestyle.
RA Camping is typically State and local parks, which have handed off their duties of registration and put into one central online location. The website is called reserveamerica.com and includes an app for your phone for on-the-go services.
Reserve America has a solid reputation for accurate campsite information and locations. Many important elements are given to the consumer at the time of registration. Not only can you pick your exact campsite, but you will have an up-to-date map of the campground along with the facilities and services they offer. This allows you to plan your trip accordantly.
Unfortunately, RA Camping does not include federal campgrounds and less important locales. You also won’t find any California state parks on RA due to their withdrawal a few years back. This is their website.
For a federal base campground site, you can visit Recreation.gov or www.recreation.gov. This website also has an app and is very beneficial to campers.
Popup Camping
Popup Camping is permitted in most RA campgrounds and is very beneficial to popup owners. Check with each park for rules on popup campers and their age limits. Some campsites have age requirements for many types of campers, but RA is one website where popup campers find great locations to visit. We have enjoyed staying at many RA campsites across Colorado and Kansas with our popup campers and would recommend them often.
RA campsites offer many types of services for campers from a standard full hookup, standard with electric hookup, and standard with electric and water hookups all with options of 20, 30, or 50 amps depending on the locations. Some of our favorite services we love to utilize our cable and WI-FI options.
Our pop-up is rather long, and we love the options of larger campsites and knowing if the campsite is a back-in or pull-through way in advance. Most campsites come with a standard grill, picnic table, and fire pit. We love to use the ‘Site Detail’ tab, where we get pictures of the campsite and a lengthy detailed description of the campgrounds. Reservation is so easy, and they are able all discounts on your order before your payment.
Enjoy your stay at a RA campsite this year and reap ‘mother nature’s’ benefits with your popup camper or RV.
