Our Must-Have Items to Bring for Long Trips
When it comes to trips over four days, we have a ‘must bring list’ to help with our insanity and everyday camping life. Usually, I camp with my teenage daughter, and our still a puppy chocolate lab. But somewhere in those longer camping trips my brother and his 2 young boys will stop by and stay a night or two, leaving me going stir crazy with all their shenanigans.
Now it was hard trying to find the exact brands, but I tried to find quality and budget-friendly products if I could not match them exactly. No this is not an Affiliated Webpage!!! I do not get paid for listing these items. Enjoy our list!
Keeping everyone happy and doing something can be hard a tricky, especially if you have a camper who refuses to get off their electronics. Though we have enough outlets in the camper it seems we need more space, you know the kind where siblings don’t need to be anywhere near themselves or various age groups just not getting along. For example, my nephews LOVE to bug my daughter, who thinks she is too cool to play all day with them. Ever have that problem?
So, to keep everyone happy for well a short time, I bought 3 of these portable charges. It charges phones, tablets, Nintendo Switch (s), my Fitbit watch, our Music Speakers, and much more. The great thing about the portable charges once they are charged you can use them up to 6 to 8 times, depending on the device and battery usage. Great for rainy days! This can also help my insanity because my daughter can now lounge on her hammock and the boys can be in separate areas in the camper or on the chairs by the lake without having to for their devices to charge back up.

Portable projectors are great for camping. They can be placed indoors or out, and we simply use a white tablecloth pinned to the popup camper outside to watch movies and invite the neighbors. To watch a movie, we use our smartphones and connect them to the projector device. On my phone, I have Disney+, HBO Max, and Netflix, which are filled with great movies for everyone. The mini projector is lightweight and compact. We connect our music speakers to Bluetooth and place them around the sitting area.

We love our hammock. There has only been a handful of times where we couldn’t find a place to hang it, but it can be a stress reliever. Just relaxing out in the open air and reading a book or listening to a podcast sounds so relaxing. But I love to fall asleep in it as well. My daughter claims it almost instantly as it goes up. Not Fair! It comes in a bag for easy storage and is very easy to put up and put away. It is so funny to see my daughter and her dog all laying in the hammock, sleeping, or relaxing the day away.

Now I have been through a few portable speakers in my day, and I can’t say enough how much I ‘really’ need music while camping. Now, I’m not that annoying camper who blares their music for the entire campsite, but when I’m cooking or having a drinking glass with the neighbors, good music is always around. We even use the speakers for watching TV or using the portable projector.
With having a chocolate lab that must be in all of our business at all times, I bought a heavy-duty trolley system that will allow her to run the length of the camper and not get tangled up in a cable or chain and underneath our feet. She can be brut as well, so I needed something that could hold her back a not snap at the sight of water! Now like most labs, she loves water and is usually the first one out in the lake before we even see water. She loves the freedom and I love not tripping on a cable every five minutes.

When it comes to camping with a popup camper or smaller RV space can be limited, and for us, we prefer to cook outdoors as much as possible. Having an adjustable portable table that can hold heavy items like a small refrigerator, coolers, or cooking elements is much-needed extra storage. They are easy to store, stow, and can put up in no time at all.
$37.99
Oh, how we love summer but not the humidity! I live in Kansas where the heat and humidity can make your camping adventure a complete and miserable failure. But not with a dehumidifier! Whether it is day or night this bad poor packs a punch. We even use it in conjunction with our AC unit. Aw, pure bliss. Those who live near a large lake or ocean can benefit from this device as well.
For me, if I am camping for a night or 2 weeks, I need my kitchen appliances. Here is my blog on “5 Must-Have Glamping Kitchen Appliances” Here I talk about 5 of my must-haves! Yes, I am a glamper and I am proud of it!
I have two of these and will set both up if I’m staying longer than 4 days and they are excellent for those hot summer days. I setup up the canopy or canopies right next to the camper and right next to my DIY Awning I made. This covers about 30ft to 50ft of the front of the camper, giving us plenty of shade and keeping us dry on rainy days.
$69.00
I have a foldable kitchen table that has a sink and racks built-in. This typically has my clean ware on it and I can do dishes on the spot when it is hooked up to the water hose and my gray water tank. They can be bought anywhere outdoor items are sold but I got mine at Walmart for clearance! Score!
