Disney Cruise Line: Onboard Credits (OBC)
I have gotten tons of questions lately asking how onboard credits (also known as OBC) work. So, let’s discuss it.
- What is an OBC?
Money that is loaded on to your onboard folio/account before you sail.
- Where does the OBC come from?
NOT Disney. In most cases the onboard credit comes directly from an agent’s pocket.
- Do all agents provide OBC?
NO. And that’s OK. It is completely up to the agent to decide if they want to incorporate this into their business model.
- Why do you offer it to your guests?
I offer it as a way to say thank you for supporting my small business. Other agents may send gifts pre/post cruise or show their appreciation in a different way. This is my preferred method.
- What can I use OBC on?
Any charge you make to your folio can be covered by OBC. The only thing you cannot purchase with an OBC is a placeholder.
